In 2019 we raised $4,600 for BC Children’s hospital.

CHRISTMAS LUNCHEON AND TOY DRIVE!
Come join your industry friends and colleagues and share some Holiday Cheer! We invite all PNWSCT members to a Christmas themed Lunch at Cloverdale Head office on Dec 12th, 12-2pm
We are planning to have a guest speaker (TBA)
In lieu of paying for lunch we would love for you to instead bring either a wrapped Toy or a Cash donation for the Surrey Christmas Bureau. They help low income families in the local areas with Toys, Stocking Stuffers and Grocery cards.

Bio Mark, Senior Technical Manager – Fire Safety, brings 35 years in Hexion’s Springfield R&D lab focusing on adhesive and fire-resistant coatings standards development as well as product development of intumescent coatings for fire protection of wood utility structures, structural wood panels, and Wildland Urban Interface compliant protection. He is a voting member of the ASTM committees D07-Wood, D14-Adhesives, E05-Fire as well as serving on the structural panel standards revision committees for PS1-Plywood and PS2-OSB.
Abstract Answering “how to protect treated wood utility poles from burning in a wildfire,” from feasibility to launching a solution for the utility industry. Overcoming the challenges of developing testing protocols to verify fire protection performance, weatherability, environmental impact, robust installation procedures while ensuring line-worker safety. We will discuss intumescent formulation, application to the woven substrate, the research behind current testing protocols, our approach to performance verification, and the issues we encountered along the way.
