2021 Portland Charity Classic Tournament for Make-A-Wish

After a one year hiatus from holding a golf tournament, we came together and resumed the event this past September. Right from the start, I would like to thank Eric Jenkins, Doug Ritsema, Pete Cutrona and Ema Hoxha as individuals and the PNWSCT organization for helping put the show together. Without their push it wouldn’t have happened.

This year, the group was mostly local PNW people, with an exception of a couple of SoCal people and an Idaho participant. I thank all of the players it a small but lively group. I would like to personally thank my good friend, Jim Calkin formerly of ET Horn, for his generous heart and donation, what a good man. I would like to thank Ravago Chemicals, IMCD, TCR, Systems Three Resins, JF Shelton, Specialty Polymers, Tempo Chemicals, Lubrizol Chemicals and Miller Paint Company. These companies continue to support this event and have so for some time. All of the participants again, thank you. It’s not much of a tournament if no one shows. Also thanks to Glendoveer Golf Course for the use of the course and Van Ebert Brew Pub for catering the event.

This year we were able to collect $6296.28. Though down a little from the past 3 years. It is an awesome amount. Make-A-Wish is extremely grateful. This added to last year’s total of $119,212.24 comes to $125,508.52 in total donations to Make-A-Wish. What an awesome effort!

There will be a tournament for 2022 so be ready for it!

 Sincerely and with great thanks,

Kevin O’Leary
